thoughts on The Hobbit becoming a trilogy: 

When first hearing the official news on The Hobbit becoming a trilogy, I was really pissed off at Peter Jackson. Today I came to the realization that it was a good thing. I’m actually pretty excited that it’s going to be three movies. Reasons being:

• it won’t end so quickly; initially it would have ended in 2013, now we have 2014 to look forward to!
• i think it’s really cool that it’s going to go more into what Gandalf does when he has “business to take care of” 
• more detail the better; i don’t like when movies abruptly switch scenes, I like to know what’s going on at all times and not have to wonder what’s going on
• legolas’s back story?!?!?! like c’mon you’d have to be an idiot to not wanna see that on the big screen

that’s really all i have to say on the topic…plus, whether you like it or not it’s happening. Hopefully it turns out to be the right decision but there’s nothing any of us can do about it at this point, that’s why I’m very optimistic and trying to look at it from all angles. I think everyone should think the same way because i highly doubt Peter would make an huge decision like this without being 100% certain that it would be anything less than the best thing to do. With that being said, Peter has given us three amazing adaptations to the Lord of the Rings, and I am confident he will do the same with the three to come.
